Mourning is a custom of idolatry, a custom that was in practice in ancient Sumeria, Mesopotamia, the Hittites, in ancient Greek, in ancient Egypt. In numerous hadiths, our prophet (saas) has prohibited mourning. It is against the Quran. It is rebellion –may God forbid- to the blessings of God. It is not an act that befits Muslims; the meaning behind it is atrocious. There is no mourning in Islam.
